Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced IT and Infosec Manager to lead the company’s IT infrastructure, security operations, and end-user support services. This role will be responsible for managing the design, implementation, and maintenance of the company’s network, data centres, cloud services, and hardware, as well as ensuring the security of all systems and data. Additionally, this role will be responsible for end-user computing, providing effective support to the business by managing the IT helpdesk, resolving user issues, and ensuring efficient performance of end-user devices.
Key Responsibilities:
Infrastructure Management:
* Lead the design, deployment, and maintenance of IT infrastructure, including networks, data centres, cloud services, and hardware.
* Ensure high availability, scalability, and performance of infrastructure systems.
Network & Cloud Management:
* Supervise networking operations, including LAN/WAN management, VPNs, firewalls, and wireless networks.
* Manage cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure) to optimise performance and scalability.
* Lead the migration of on-premise infrastructure to cloud services where vital.
Information Security:
* Develop and enforce comprehensive information security policies, procedures, and controls.
* Ensure compliance with data protection laws and industry standards (e.g., GDPR, ISO/IEC 27001).
* Implement security tools and practices, including firewalls, anti-malware, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and encryption.
End User Compute & IT Support:
* Manage end-user computing services, ensuring that desktop, laptop, mobile, and peripheral devices are deployed and maintained effectively.
* Oversee the IT helpdesk and ticketing system to ensure prompt resolution of user issues.
* Lead efforts to improve the user experience, including system upgrades, patch management, and automation of support processes.
* Track and report on helpdesk performance metrics, ensuring service levels are met.
System Administration:
* Oversee server, database, storage systems, and other core infrastructure components.
* Ensure that backup and recovery systems are in place and tested regularly.
* Address and resolve technical issues related to system performance and security.
Compliance & Risk Management:
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of security trends, threats, and regulatory changes.
* Conduct regular audits, vulnerability assessments, and risk assessments to ensure compliance with internal and external requirements.
Collaborating with Vendors and Collaborators:
* Work closely with the Head of IT and other teams to align infrastructure and security strategies with business objectives.
* Evaluate and implement new technologies to improve infrastructure efficiency and security.
Team Leadership:
* Lead and mentor a team of infrastructure, security, and support specialists.
* Provide technical guidance and support to the team, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
* Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
* 7+ years of experience in IT infrastructure management, network operations, information security, and end-user support.
* Demonstrable experience in leading IT helpdesk operations and end-user computing environments.
* Solid understanding of data centre management, cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure), and virtualisation technologies.
* Expertise in cybersecurity practices, including firewalls, encryption, and incident response.
* Familiarity with compliance standards such as GDPR, ISO/IEC 27001, SOC 2, and others.
* Hands-on experience with network architecture, server administration, and system fix.
* Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CCNP, or equivalent are a plus.
Desired Skills:
* Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills in infrastructure and end-user environments.
* Good communication skills, with the ability to translate technical issues into business context.
* Experience with cloud migration, hybrid environments, and security automation.
* Familiarity with ITIL framework and service management tools.
