We are seeking to appoint a motivated and passionate Chef de Partie on a full-time, term-time plus 3 weeks’ basis (approx. 37.6 weeks per year) to be part of our exceptional Catering team.
This is an exciting opportunity for the right individual to join a well-established and successful team, working closely with our Senior Sous Chef under the leadership of our Executive Chef, to support and further develop the catering provision within the school.
Being part of our catering team is both fulfilling and rewarding, providing nutritious lunches of a high standard to around 900 students, staff, and visitors daily, along with occasionally supporting hospitality events throughout the year.
Duties
1. Assist and play an active role in menu development, preparation, and service of school lunches and other refreshments to ensure sufficient and varied menus are provided to meet dietary and healthy eating requirements.
2. Adhere to all allergy guidance and best practices to ensure all menus, ingredients, and requirements are met, including completion of all necessary records.
3. Assist in organising, preparing, and carrying out special catering function work as required.
4. Ensure that all food delivered is handled and stored correctly, including the rotation of stock.
5. Ensure that all temperature testing is carried out and recorded as required.
6. Ensure that all cleaning requirements are carried out as necessary to ensure a clean, safe, and workable environment at all times to maintain a high standard of food and kitchen hygiene.
7. Report any faults with equipment and appliances to the Senior Sous Chef or Executive Chef.
8. Assist in maintaining a friendly and helpful atmosphere within the Catering Team, school staff, pupils, visitors, suppliers, and contractors.
9. Attend relevant meetings and training sessions.
10. Ensure compliance with all food safety legislation relating to the catering industry and with all Health and Safety legislation.
