About our Team: The Data & Analytics Center of Expertise provides data-driven insights for Elsevier's primary research and peer review processes. We are a global team with over 20 data professionals located in six countries. The team comprises product management, data analysts, data governance, and engineers, providing insights and analytics to operational, executive, and strategic stakeholders. About the Role: You will work as a Product Support Analyst in our Data Warehouse Squad. The squad operates on Agile software development principles according to our company model and includes software, analytical, and quality engineers. In your role as a Product Support Analyst, you will have the following responsibilities: Responsibilities: - Technical Support: Provide technical support for the discovery and development of new product ideas or strategic product extensions. - Analytical Work: Participate in analytical, experimental, investigative, and other fact-finding work in support of product development. - Idea Collection: Collect and classify new product ideas, ensuring they are well-documented and organized to support evaluation of their potential to address customer needs and achieve goals in revenue growth and market share. - Specification Capture: Capture specifications for product requirements and functionality, ensuring they are clear and comprehensive. - Stakeholder Interaction: Act as a liaison between stakeholders and the Agile squad, gathering requirements and feedback, and ensuring their requirements are reflected in the product specifications. - Collaboration: Work closely with the Product Manager, other squad members, and stakeholders to ensure seamless collaboration and communication throughout the development process. - Data Analysis: Perform data analysis using tools such as Snowflake or Tableau to validate product ideas and specifications. - Documentation: Maintain up-to-date and detailed documentation of product ideas, requirements, processes, and solutions. - Problem Solving: Use critical thinking and problem-solving skills to resolve issues and roadblocks, ensuring that the team stays on track and delivers results. Requirements: - Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders and the software engineering team. - Problem-Solving Skills: Demonstrable problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve complex issues. - Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with common data management and analytics technologies, principles, and practices, including warehousing, ETL, and visualization. - Database Knowledge: Basic understanding of database systems such as Snowflake, Oracle, or SQL Server, including their architecture and capabilities. - SQL Queries: Ability to write and understand SQL queries. - Data Visualization: Knowledge of data visualization tools such as Tableau is a plus. - Data Warehousing: Some experience with data warehousing, including concepts such as data modeling and ETL processes, is a plus.
