Our utilities client has an exciting opportunity for an IT Project Manager to join their team and play a key role in delivering innovative solutions.
You will work closely with business leaders, IT teams, and external vendors to manage projects that directly impact our client’s operations, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Own the delivery of IT projects, ensuring on-time and on-budget execution.
* Collaborate with the IT team to review business requirements and propose suitable IT solutions.
* Lead tender selection events with our procurement team, as needed.
* Support project business cases, helping secure investment approval by summarizing costs, risks, timelines, and financial forecasts.
* Manage internal and external stakeholders, ensuring smooth communication and delivery across multiple teams and suppliers.
* Maintain strong governance and ensure project progress is tracked and aligned with goals.
Key requirements:
* Extensive experience in IT project delivery, particularly in the utilities sector.
* Strong project & portfolio management background, with the ability to handle complex projects.
* A proven track record in financial management and delivering projects within varying contractual frameworks (e.g., T&M, fixed cost).
* Solid experience in managing contracts and enhancing supplier delivery through well-structured agreements.
* Expertise in process and governance design and implementation.
* Ability to manage vendor relationships and solve complex problems.
* A flexible approach to roles and responsibilities with a strong focus on teamwork.
* Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), ensuring clear and concise updates to stakeholders at all levels.
* Degree-level education (or equivalent).
* Prince 2 Practitioner or equivalent Project Management qualification highly desirable.
* Managing Successful Programmes (MSP) or similar certification a plus.
* ITIL experience or qualification (helpful for IT Operations and Service Acceptance).
This is a permanent role to start ASAP, paying in the region of £60,000 per annum.
