Digital Communications Officer
We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled individual who is passionate about creating brilliant web content that our users can understand and act upon.
You’ll be enthusiastic about shaping often-complex processes and messaging into clear, accessible information – combining a sound technical understanding of web best practice with great writing skills.
Summary of the role
Working as part of our agile team, you’ll share responsibility for the management and continuous improvement of our web presence, with an emphasis on content design. You’ll implement user-centred content and web accessibility principles to make sure we serve our audiences in the most effective ways. In particular, you will:
1. produce or review web content that meets our standards, and manage a daily publication workflow
2. work with colleagues across the communications team to manage and track our audience behaviours
3. analyse patterns and predict trends using web analytics tools, including Google Analytics and Hotjar
4. collaborate with teams across the organisation to deliver training on our content management system and promote the principles of our content strategy.
The person
You’ll need well-developed analytical, editorial and technical skills, and have experience of creating user-centred web content. Your organisational skills will help you balance a variety of complex tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Your excellent organisation and communication skills will help you build relationships internally with project and operational teams.
And you’ll be astute in presenting findings from your analysis of web usage in ways that land well with the intended audience, using your influencing skills when working with subject matter experts to affect positive change.
We mostly work from home, but you will be expected to attend our offices in Manchester at least one day a week (and more if preferred) and attend a daily online stand up meeting in the morning. We are happy to consider a range of flexible working. Flexible working requests will be considered in line with our policy.
