Duties & Responsibilities
* Act as a point of contact between the company and suppliers
* Research suppliers and products and identify potential suppliers based on project requirements
* Negotiate contracts, terms, and deadlines with vendors and suppliers
* Monitor and update relevant departments regarding price fluctuations of goods and vendor pricing
* Manage an efficient flow of goods to ensure optimum production
* Maintain supplier database, product specification sheet, buying template, stock master preparation, and update tracker
* Review balance orders, study averages, and price comparison - imports
* Work closely with the accounts department to ensure contract terms are favorable to the company
* Attend meetings with the design team, management, vendors, and suppliers
* Manage, coach, and develop high-performing purchasing and cost estimating teams that meet agreed objectives and which deliver best practice results, added value, and continuous improvements
* Set departmental objectives/KPIs and review and assess ongoing performance of direct reports
* Catalogue and supplier artwork checks
Desired Experience & Qualifications
* Extensive experience working in the procurement department in a related field
* Relevant qualification will be an advantage
* Working knowledge of the industry and market conditions
* Strong understanding of imports and negotiation techniques
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills
