Setter Operator (CNC Turning)
Location: Camberley, Surrey
Salary: £14 to £20 per hour
Working Hours:
7.30 to 16.30 Monday to Thursday (30 mins lunch); 7.30 to 12.30 Friday (no lunch) - 39-hour week. Plenty of overtime is available at time and a half.
Job Overview:
You will be required to perform setting and operating duties in the CNC Turning section machining components from a range of materials. The machine controls are mostly either Mazak or Fanuc. We have two Turn/Mill Lathes, one of which has a Y axis and sub-spindle, as well as a Mazak J200 Integrex Mill/Turn in the section.
Responsibilities:
1. Setting and operating CNC Turning centres.
2. Occasional editing of programmes.
3. Use of conversational systems like Mazatrol and Hurco (training available).
4. Ensuring that programmes are working effectively.
5. Observing the Company's health and safety rules.
6. General duties as required conducive to efficient running of the section.
Previous Experience:
Essential:
1. CNC setting and operating experience - 2-Axis Turning Centres.
2. Knowledge of CNC programs (Fanuc as well as some Mazatrol or conversational).
3. Accomplished setting and proving skills.
4. Able to understand engineering drawings.
5. Good knowledge of materials, speeds, feeds, cutters, etc.
6. Able to use measuring instruments - micrometers, verniers, etc.
7. Able to work to a high degree of complexity and accuracy.
8. Ability to prioritise.
Desirable:
1. Familiarity with aerospace quality systems.
2. Familiar with mill/turn machines, Y-Axis and/or sub-spindle.
