Job Title: Clinical Support Officer
Location: Guisborough
Hours: Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday – 8.30am-4.30pm with half an hour for lunch
Trust Location: North Tees & Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust, Tees Community Dental Service, Guisborough Primary Care Hospital, Northgate, Guisborough, TS14 6HZ
What you’ll be responsible for:
1. Following Trust policies and local protocols, to be the first point of contact either via telephone or email, establishing the nature of the enquiry and communicating/dealing with queries from service users and external agencies including patients, their representatives, General Dental Practitioners and NHS staff.
2. Provide factual, non-clinical information to patients over the telephone and via written information.
3. Working to deadlines for processing of information, including clinical letters, reports, referrals, booking of patient/survey/screening appointments and processing of paperwork for general anaesthetic/survey/screening sessions.
4. Demonstrate empathetic and reassuring skills when dealing with anxious or distressed service users via telephone.
You’ll learn the following whilst working at the trust:
1. An in depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS.
2. Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times.
3. A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation.
You’ll have the following skills/experience:
1. Data entry skills.
2. Microsoft Office package knowledge e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel.
3. NHS System Knowledge.
4. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
This role may require you to show evidence of vocational level 3 qualification or at least 2 years relevant experience.
