Network Recruitment Wales is recruiting for a varied administrative role in Children's services, this role will be part of a friendly and supportive business support team who support the Social work teams who work directly with professionals, children and their families that have been referred for child protection or safeguarding reasons.
The role is a temporary, full time position consisting of 37 hours per week, initially first 4 weeks will be office based whilst undergoing training, thereafter a hybrid approach but 2 or 3 days in the office each week at the moment. The work is fast paced and thus an ability to work accuratel, and efficiently whilst remaining calm is essential. Excellent phone manner is needed as the role also involves taking calls form professionals and families. Therefore an ability to be empathetic but compartmentalise the neglect/ abuse seen within a case is needed, so this role may not suit everyone due to the nature of the work. Excellent IT skills are also essential as the role will involve setting up new laptops (after training) ie adding inboxes, short cuts, salutations etc and new mobile phones, validating data (assessing and amending) that has been put in incorrectly. Other duties include dealing with petty cash, file viewings/DSARS work, putting on our child protection referrals within deadlines, "manning" inboxes, and general administration in connection with new referrals and those cases currently open to our Children with disabilities team. This is just a precis of the tasks.
Full and extensive training is offered however the ideal person will have solid, and recent administrative experience, IT skills and evidence of dealing with some more complex work. Hours: 9 - 5 and 4.30 finish on a friday (37). A DBS will be required and will be covered by Network Recruitment Wales if you do not have one.
