Build the digital playground: AI Research Robotics Lab is seeking a skilled and innovative 3D Asset Pipeline Engineer to develop and maintain scalable systems for creating physics-based 3D assets for use within the MuJoCo physics simulator. This role will be pivotal in making available tens of thousands of 3D assets with realistic physical properties specifically for robotics use cases. The successful candidate will work closely with researchers, the MuJoCo team, and other engineers to create high-quality assets that enhance our robotics simulation capabilities.
Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
Experience:
Strong C++ and Python programming skills
Demonstrated experience with 3D assets in physics simulation software
Proficiency with 3D software development (e.g., Blender)
Familiarity with physics simulations and/or physics-based animation software
Skills:
Strong understanding of 3D modelling and rigid body physics
Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
Proficiency in developing automated testing systems
Ability to work collaboratively in a research environment
Interest in robotics, embodied reasoning, and AI research
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with MuJoCo physics simulator
In-depth knowledge of rigid body physics simulation
Experience working with Universal Scene Description (USD)
Background in 3D web frontend development
Experience with UX design
Demonstrated success with large-scale testing and production pipelines
