About Our Team
Rotherham’s Adult Social Care Locality Teams’ vision is to enable every adult with care and support needs to live their best lives, with the people they value, close to home and with access to the right support at the right time. Our staff are exceptionally talented and are passionate about working in Rotherham, for the people of Rotherham.
The service covers the North, Central, and South areas of the Borough and has a base in the town centre and a regional office in Maltby, where the South 2 Team Manager will primarily be based.
Our Locality Teams work with adults of all ages, who are experiencing the impacts of short- or long-term ill health due to physical and/or cognitive impairments. We work holistically to support Carers and families, as part of the Rotherham Family Approach, valuing the vital support they provide too.
Every day is different, and the breadth of Localities work spans across duty interventions, assessment and support, safeguarding adults, and court work.
About You
The successful candidate will lead a team of Social Work qualified and vocationally qualified staff to deliver a Locality based service to adults with presenting needs for care and support. As a manager, it will be your role to ensure that services and support are provided in accordance with legal frameworks governing Adult Social Care including the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, Making Safeguarding Personal and Continuing Healthcare Frameworks.
You would also be expected to co-ordinate the work of your team to ensure people awaiting our assessment and support are responded to within our services’ agreed assessment timescales. You will quality assure your team’s work, ensuring that a strength and assets-based approach is always utilised and will work closely with practice and quality assurance team colleagues to ensure best practice is achieved.
A key role of the manager is to maintain oversight and responsibility of the performance of the team and be willing to work flexibly, in accordance with the team’s needs and wider service requirements.
