Whether you have no transport experience or have a previous background within a transport office, we would love to hear from you This is a full-time, permanent role for our site based in Bury St Edmunds. As a Transport Operator you’ll be supporting in delivering day to day transport operation tasks. Shift times for this role are Monday-Friday ( Mid Shift 12pm – 9pm) Pay, benefits and more: We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £29,133 per annum 15% shift allowance. We offer 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays), as well as the option to buy additional days. What you’ll do on a typical day: Co-ordinate the transport operations on site and on customer premises to meet both customer and company expectations. Liaise with line management to ensure the effective use of hire vehicles / subcontractors minimising the cost impact to the business. Ensure that all drivers are compliant with the working time directive regulations and that any accidents/incidents are investigated in a timely manner. Ensuring all collections are covered. Any returns are processed. Dispatching 10-12 daily trunks. What you need to succeed at XPO: Essential: A willingness to learn transport and build a career within XPO. Essential: Calm, positive & analytical mindset. Be solutions focused. Essential: Excellent communication skills – you’ll be speaking regularly with various stakeholders with different personalities. Essential: Be able to pick up systems and procedures confidently. Be able adapt to various challenges or situations that may arise. Essential: Good understanding of Microsoft packages including Excel and Outlook. Highly Desirable - previous transport operator or planning experience.
