Position Purpose & Summary
We’re looking for a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join our high-performing maintenance team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our plant operations.
In this role, you'll be responsible for mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of plant equipment. You’ll also support contractor supervision, safety permitting, and continuous improvement initiatives. Principal Accountabilities
* Perform reactive, preventative, and predictive maintenance to ensure smooth plant operations.
* Diagnose, repair, and maintain mechanical equipment in a safe, timely, and efficient manner.
* Complete maintenance tasks using the Maintenance & Reliability Management System.
* Work closely with production teams to troubleshoot and prevent equipment failures.
* Ensure all machinery and equipment is mechanically and electrically safe.
* Issue safety permits and supervise contractor activity when required.
* Propose improvements to job plans, procedures, and maintenance strategies.
* Complete maintenance work orders generated by the Maintenance & Reliability Management System.
* Carry out other support maintenance work when required.
* Support and promote behavioural safety.
* Work with production closely when investigating failures.
Education, Experience, Skills
* Served recognised Mechanical or Multi Skilled Apprenticeship.
* HNC or equivalent qualification in Maintenance Engineering.
* Experience using Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), preferably SAP.
* Basic electrical skills and understanding of safety systems.
* Experience with bulk handling equipment such as conveyors, elevators, etc.
* Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
* Excellent communication, teamwork skills, and good safety awareness.
* Previous experience in a continuous process manufacturing environment.
* Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing principles (preferred).
* Experience working on a Chemical plant is desirable; if not, heavy engineering experience would also be considered.
