Pertemps Bristol Industrial are currently recruiting for a Design Engineer for one of our clients based in BS21.Monday to Friday38.5hrs per weekPermanentOffice based or hybrid working£45,000 per annumJob Details:Design, development and support of power and control circuits, both digital and analogNew product implementation as part of the Design TeamResearch of electronics and power circuitsUnderstand product requirements and implementation of these in the product and application, whilst understanding commercial and business requirementsFollow departmental processes relating to management of designs and also the company-wide new product development processes.Working through product life cycle, from schematic, layout, proof of concept, supply chain, tests, approvals to product deliveryPrepares and presents proposals and solutions to other members of the Design team and project stakeholders at design reviewsProvide expertise on the customer application to guide the design process.Carries out detailed electronic circuit design and layout, including simulation and design verification testing of the new design.Component selection and management, considering obsolescence, availability and cost.Preparation of manufacturing packs for all PCB designs.Work with production, test and service to ensure that DFx engineering approach is followed, including manufacturing, test, service and financialEnsure product test strategy is implemented and followed throughout designParticipates openly in peer reviews of other engineers designs.Documents design work and prepares reports, ensuring design files and information are kept up to date and stored in accordance with company procedures.Writing specifications and technical reports.Requirements:Degree in Power Electronics, Embedded Electronics, Embedded Systems or equivalentExperienced in hardware system designSchematic and PCB layout (OrCad).Use of electrical test equipment such as PSUs, Load banks, DMM/DVM, oscilloscope/analysers, signal/function generators.Creative and methodical approach to design and test.Analytical approach to fault finding.Use of software IDEs, development boards and emulators to assist with embedded programming an advantage.Microsoft Office products including Outlook, OneNote, Word, Excel and Teams/SharePoint.Agile management, including JIRA, would be an advantage123 Insight knowledge an advantage.Benefits:Enhanced pension (legal requirement is 9% on a 5/4% split between employee and PB.
