We are looking for a highly capable, enthusiastic, and motivated Pharmacy Technician with extensive experience of hospital pharmacy to join our Team at Scarborough Hospital.
The post holder will work cross site and work closely with the Procurement and Distribution Manager to contribute to operational running of the distribution and procurement services and pharmacy stores team.
This post would ideally suit those with a background in pharmacy procurement, with good communication skills and initiative and the ability to work accurately whilst meeting deadlines. Relevant experience is essential, including the ability to perform accurate data analysis and reporting.

Main duties of the job
To provide technical leadership on procurement in collaboration with the procurement team across both York and Scarborough sites, working closely with the Principal Pharmacy Technician (Distribution and Automation) and the Pharmacy Procurement and Distribution manager.
Day to day management and leadership of the Procurement and Distribution Senior Pharmacy Technicians and pharmacy stores and staff at the Scarborough site.
Effectively communicate with pharmaceutical wholesalers, manufacturers and external agencies ensuring efficient and cost-effective procurement and supply of medicines in line with regional and national pharmacy contracting.
Communicate with pharmacy staff, other healthcare professionals and external customers on a wide range of queries relating to procurement of medicines including changes to contracts availability and cost of medicines (including controlled drugs, unlicensed medicines, and specials) and supply issues or delays.
To contribute to service improvement and development of distribution services to wards across all sites, including the provision of new services, facilitating ward moves and responding to complaints and issues, ensuring compliance with all legislation relating to medicines supply services, in a safe efficient and cost-effective manner.

Education, Qualifications and Training
Essential
1. BTEC in Pharmaceutical Sciences / QCF Level 3 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent.
2. Certificate in management or equivalent training, including effective and legal recruitment, appraisal, and performance management.
3. Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
Desirable
1. QCF Level 4 or above in a qualification relevant to the post.
2. ACT or PIPC qualification.
Experience & Knowledge Required

1. Specialist clinical and / or technical knowledge relating to the service to be managed.
2. Knowledge of legislation, and pharmacy law and ethics in relation to the service to be managed.
