Senior Specialist Suicide Bereavement Worker
Location: Bristol, North Somerset, South Glos, Bath & North-East Somerset
Salary: £27,198 pro-rata per annum
Contract: Fixed Term until March 2026 with the possibility of extension dependant on funding
Hours: Various hours available - to be agreed with the successful candidate

We are recruiting a Specialist Suicide Bereavement Project Worker to join the Beside Project. We support people bereaved by suicide who live in BNSSG and BANES. We provide emotional and practical support to those bereaved by suicide.
About the role
The role is responsible for providing a specialist bereavement service, supporting family members and individuals who have been bereaved by suicide This role focuses on supporting an individual during their grief journey, and navigating the Inquest Process and liaising with, police, schools, universities, NHS trusts and other professionals.
In the job you will be:
* Working with families and close contacts of the bereaved
* Build therapeutic relationships with clients experiencing high levels of distress
* Hold a caseload of clients
* Liaising with police, Coroners’ officers, NHS colleagues and GP’s and schools and universities.
* Receiving management and clinical supervision, together with group reflective practice.

About you
You will be:
* An excellent communicator
* Be a trauma informed practitioner
* Knowledge and understanding of complicated grief and the potential impact of the traumatic response that may be experienced by suicide bereavement
* Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Demonstrated ability to maintain boundaries within a professional environment.
* Computer literacy and record keeping in line with organisational guidelines
* Demonstrate awareness of the support needs of people bereaved by suicide
