We provide business consultancy, advice, technology and hands-on support, maximising profitability for our clients by improving the way that products are sourced and managed.
We now have a fantastic opportunity for a motivated Category Purchasing Manager to join our team to manage the day-to-day buying activity for our clients, working within our central Buying function. This role will entail developing strong supply relationships, category management, understanding the market conditions and negotiating supplier contracts within the Food and Beverage industry.
This is a full-time role, office based in Milton Keynes with occasional travel throughout the UK.
Essential Responsibilities and Skills:
1. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Purchasing and ideally Food and Beverage
2. Category management experience – Food or Beverages
3. Strong negotiator and the ability to communicate at all levels
4. Excellent level of IT competence including Microsoft Windows Software such as Excel
5. High level of numeracy and an analytical approach
6. Strong financial and commercial acumen with attention to detail
7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
8. Ability to work effectively as part of a team
9. Able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
10. Ability to organise and prioritise workload
11. Ability to influence at a senior level
Desirable Skills:
1. Experience in the Hospitality and Out of Home eating market
2. Experience of supplier contracting and performance tracking
3. Experience of P2P systems
4. Proven ability to engage at a senior level
