SCOPE & FUNCTION OF JOB: Under the direction of the Senior Airfield Electrician, undertakes daily inspection, maintenance, and rectification of Airfield Ground Lighting, maintenance of standby power generators; maintenance and servicing of Airport Emergency Lighting and other tasks as designated by the Senior Airfield Electrician.
KEY DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. To act in the absence of the Senior Airfield Electrician on operational and technical matters.
2. Maintenance, modification, and repair of the Airfield Ground Lighting, repairs to AGL Hardware such as AGL Light Fittings, AGL standby generators, maintenance and servicing of Emergency Lights throughout the airport, Portable Appliance Testing of electrical equipment throughout the airport. Maintenance of electrical installations within airport buildings.
3. Maintenance of technical records in accordance with CAA requirements.
4. Participation and co-operation in the management of Critical Spares and storage.
5. Maintenance, control, and calibration of Test and Measuring Equipment (TME).
6. Following procedures in accordance with local and regulatory documents.
7. To undertake other tasks and duties commensurate with the post as requested by the Senior Airfield Electrician.
8. To carry out Airside driving and maintain a valid Airfield Driving Permit by demonstrating the required driving skills and medical standards.
9. Visual driving inspection of AGL Systems on the airfield and sites beyond the airfield boundary.
10. Complete safe isolation and monthly/bi-monthly tests to HV AGL circuits.
11. Complete service to Abacus masts.
KNOWLEDGE and EXPERIENCE:
1. Qualified Electrician, City & Guilds 2365 Level 2 & 3, NVQ Level 3.
2. Safe colour perception.
3. UK Driving Licence.
4. First Aid (electric shock treatment).
