Specialist Cardiac Physiologist, 37.5 hours per week
Due to the opening of a new Community Diagnostic Centre in Workington, we have an exciting opportunity for a Specialist Cardiac Physiologist to join the Cardiology Service in the North Cumbria Integrated Care Trust. We are looking for someone who has experience in invasive procedures to join our team and support the PCI service based at the Cumberland Infirmary.
The Cardiology Department covers a wide range of invasive and non-invasive cardiology procedures, with two acute sites and a newly opened Cardiac Catheter Suite at the Cumberland Infirmary as well as the community diagnostic centre. You will work on rotation through these sites.
Main Duties of the Job
1. Demonstrate expertise in the performance of the range of investigations carried out by the cardiology department.
2. Perform competently Cardiology Procedures including:
* Non-Invasive: ECG, ambulatory ECG, BP monitoring, and Physiologist lead Exercise testing.
* Invasive: Haemodynamic monitoring during invasive procedures including diagnostic Angiography, elective and emergency Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (including FFR, IVUS, OCT, and IABP). Permanent Pacemaker implantation and pacemaker follow-up. ICD follow-up and deactivation.
1. Support will be available for areas where training is required.
2. Potential opportunities for training in echo.
3. Participate in the on-call rota for Primary PCI.
4. Support Trainees and more junior members of staff training within the department.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* BSc (Hons) in clinical physiology or technical cardiology, or equivalent.
* Further development to postgraduate diploma or equivalent.
* RCCP or equivalent.
* HRUK or equivalent.
* BSE or equivalent.
Experience
* Post-qualification experience performing cardiology investigations.
* Experience of other procedures such as Tachy Device implant and pacemaker follow-up.
* Experience working within the NHS.
Knowledge
* In-depth knowledge of the investigations carried out by the department to enable interpretation of results and training of junior members of staff.
Skills
* Good organisational skills.
* Able to prioritise workload to meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
* Ability to follow, maintain, and devise policies and procedures.
* Able to work alone and as part of a team.
* Ability to demonstrate the compassionate values and behaviours needed for dignified care.
