About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join our high-tech machine shop. You will be responsible for setting up, proving out, and operating Fanuc-controlled CNC milling machinery (Mazak), producing parts for the aircraft interiors industry. This is a key role in ensuring smooth production runs and maintaining high-quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Set up a range of Fanuc-controlled CNC milling machines to produce both simple and complex parts for low-batch, high-mix production.
* Edit and create basic CNC programs using G&M code.
* Operate machinery to meet production targets and quality standards.
* Conduct self-inspections of repeat work using the appropriate tools and techniques.
* Perform regular Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) on the equipment.
* Report any production issues or defects to the Team Lead and engineering team.
* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency.
* Track operational performance and provide feedback.
* Collaborate effectively with peers and support teams.
* Adhere to company quality management standards.
* Follow EH&S guidelines and ensure compliance.
* Maintain a clean and organized workspace, following housekeeping and FOD rules.
Required Skills and Experience:
* City and Guilds CNC/NC qualifications or at least 5 years of relevant CNC machining experience in a precision engineering environment.
* Extensive experience with CNC milling machinery.
* Strong knowledge of Fanuc control systems.
* Proficient with machine tooling and inspection equipment.
* Attention to detail with the ability to produce components to a high standard.
* Strong understanding of complex engineering drawings and data.
* Good awareness of EH&S practices in a manufacturing environment.
* Ability to work independently.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Skills:
* Knowledge of metallurgy.
* Familiarity with Microsoft Office software.
* Experience with lean manufacturing techniques and process improvement projects.
