ABOUT THE JOB Job Purpose The Lead Mobile Engineer is responsible for leading and evolving the mobile engineering strategy across both iOS and Android platforms. The position involves technical leadership of the mobile engineering squad, architectural oversight, and ensuring high-quality delivery of mobile solutions that serve millions of users globally. Responsibilities Lead and mentor a squad of 7 mobile engineers across iOS and Android platforms Drive technical excellence and best practices in mobile development Architect and oversee the implementation of new features across both platforms Balance platform-specific optimization with cross-platform consistency Collaborate and build relationships with product and design teams to deliver exceptional user experiences Establish and maintain technical standards for mobile development Drive continuous improvement in app performance, stability, and user satisfaction Oversee the app release process and coordinate with stakeholders Guide the technical roadmap for mobile applications Additional Responsibilities Drive innovation in mobile development practices Contribute to broader technology strategy and architectural decisions Identify and develop future technical leaders within the mobile team Stay current with mobile development trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve the development process and application functionality Growth Opportunities Opportunity to shape the mobile strategy for a rapidly growing international company Increasing involvement in strategic technical decision-making Development of broader technology leadership skills Experience in managing/mentoring mobile engineers in multiple regions Opportunity to influence mobile development practices across multiple regions Requirements 5 years of experience in software development with a strong focus on mobile application engineering Strong technical background in mobile development, with expertise in either iOS (Swift) or Android (Kotlin) and working knowledge of the other platform Proven experience leading and mentoring mobile engineering teams in an agile environment Strong understanding of mobile architecture patterns and best practices Strong understanding and experience with payment solutions and localisation Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure alignment on project goals and deliverables Previous experience with setting up CI/CD pipeline, usage of Circle CI and BitRise preferred Knowledge of app store guidelines and submission processes Understanding of mobile security best practices Familiarity with analytics and crash reporting tools Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform and Firebase is a plus Previous experience in scaling mobile applications for international markets is a plus Experience with in-car applications is a plus Benefits We trust you to know what’s needed to get the job done.
