The Opportunity - Senior Process Design Engineer:
As a Senior Process Design Engineer, you will be an essential part of the Engineering Design Team. You will work closely with Principal Engineers, Design Managers, and Design Leads to ensure that all designs meet high standards of quality and comply with the organisation's processes and Health and Safety regulations. This role involves direct engagement in projects, requiring strong skills in technical design delivery within the water and wastewater industry. You may also have line management responsibilities, guiding design engineers in their professional development.
Key Accountabilities - Senior Process Design Engineer:
Ensure technical compliance and quality in design outputs, acting as the primary checker for technical assurance.
Lead discipline efforts on projects, seeking optimal solutions that balance costs.
Design for buildability, safety, and operational efficiency, collaborating with project delivery teams.
Uphold procedural governance and ensure adherence to client specifications and standards.
Promote innovation and value engineering throughout the project lifecycle.
Provide technical problem-solving support from concept design to final construction.
Assist with pre-contract design activities and share lessons learned to improve future projects.
Mentor and develop design engineers, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and professional growth.
Support staff in achieving accreditation with professional bodies (e.g., ICE, IET, IMechE, IChemE). Competency Requirements - Senior Process Design Engineer:
Proficient in Process Calculations, Mass Balances, Heat Balances, and Hydraulic Calculations.
Experienced in preparing Process Block Diagrams, PFDs, and P&IDs.
Skilled in developing Process Control Philosophies and Process Commissioning Plans.
HAZOP leadership and DSEAR experience are desirable.
Strong commercial awareness and experience in a contracting or consulting environment.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Proficient in IT, including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and performance management systems.
Demonstrated leadership abilities, with a focus on driving results and attention to detail.

Flexible and adaptable with strong problem-solving skills.
Ability to prioritise workload effectively and take responsibility for personal development. Technical/Professional Expertise and Qualifications - Senior Process Design Engineer:
