You’ll be joining at a pivotal time of our Finance journey as we embark on an exciting and challenging period of transformation to centralise Finance globally, support business growth and shape the future of our organization.
THE GIG
Working in a fast-paced team for the Global Financial Accounting Manager, the Global Financial Assistant Accountant will manage the general ledger for all entities within the DM Group including those in the EMEA, Americas, APAC Regions and the Holding Companies. The team will have a specific focus on Gross Margin, Stock & Opex (key metrics for the Group).
As our Global Financial Assistant Accountant you will be responsible for:
* Own and analyse global postings for Gross Margin and Stock, calculate stock provisions for aged inventory, monitor inventory valuation in line with Group policies, and produce monthly reports on key metrics (e.g., stock ageing, WMS vs D365 comparisons).
* Manage month-end tasks, ensure ledgers align with group and statutory requirements, prepare balance sheet reconciliations, and support half-year/year-end audits with timely issue resolution.
* Drive accounting centralisation, promote global consistency through process documentation, and identify efficiencies while challenging the status quo.
* Liaise confidently with financial and non-financial teams across regions to meet deadlines, share best practices, and resolve accounting anomalies effectively.
* Foster a culture of excellence and teamwork within Transactional Finance, embody a proactive and solution-oriented attitude, and provide cover and support for the wider finance team and ad hoc projects.

Put simply, for this role the key things we’re looking for are:
* Studying towards an accounting qualification with prior experience in a finance department; experience with Microsoft Dynamics (D365), retail, multi-currency, and overseas subsidiaries is highly desirable.
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel (VLookups, pivot tables) with the ability to analyse large datasets accurately; strong understanding of business processes and nominal ledger postings.
* Possess strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and an inquisitive nature to identify and resolve issues effectively.
* Work well under tight deadlines within a small team, assist colleagues proactively, and communicate issues clearly across all levels.
* Demonstrate a proactive approach to streamlining processes and increasing team productivity.
