As a SEMH Teacher you will be working in a primary school with students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH), which may include outdoor activities and many ways of teaching and supporting children. As well as being a key figure in their lives, our teachers always look for fun and unique ways to be engaging in the classroom!
The schools we work with are looking for a SEMH Teacher that can fill day to day, short term, and long term placements. They provide an abundance of experience, which can allow you to grow as a teacher while being paid at market leading rates. We have experienced and dedicated SEND Consultants choosing placements that suit your availability, preference and skills.
The right SEMH Teacher / Social, Emotional and Mental Health Teacher will have the following:
Qualified Teacher Status/QTS, 6 months previous SEND/ SEMH experience
Flexible and able to cover classes last minute to cover for staff sickness or training
Lessons will often be pre-planned, however, ideally capable of planning your own lesson activities and resources
Adapting tasks to meet the needs of individual children
Effective behaviour management skills
Effective communication with members of internal staff
