The Role
We are seeking a creative, proactive and enthusiastic Marketing and Admissions Assistant to join our friendly and forward-thinking Marketing, Admissions and Development team.
About the role:
This is a varied and dynamic role supporting the school’s marketing and engagement strategy. The successful candidate will be responsible for day-to-day content creation and social media management, with the opportunity to shape and develop our communications across multiple channels. You’ll also play a key part in supporting admissions activities and helping to deliver high-quality events and experiences for prospective families and alumni.
We’re looking for someone who thrives on generating ideas, brings a proactive approach, and has an eye for detail. You’ll be working closely with the Director of Development and Engagement, the Registrar, and other colleagues, and there’s real scope to make this role your own. Whether you're already experienced in a similar setting or looking to grow your career in marketing, this role offers the chance to be part of a warm and supportive school community that encourages creativity and innovation.
This position is primarily term-time and some flexibility of working hours will be required in light of the role and responsibilities it entails, including during school holidays. A small amount of out-of-hours working may be needed for special events, including evenings and weekends. The formal contract, detailing terms and conditions, will be drawn up on appointment. The main provisions are likely to include working 40 hours per week during term time (34 weeks) plus 6 weeks to be worked in the school holidays (to include 3 days following the end of each term and 3 days before the start of each term for INSET, plus an additional 12 days across the year ).
Your responsibilities will include:
* Managing and creating content for our social media channels
* Leading the design and delivery of our weekly parental newsletter
* Producing engaging written and visual content for use across print and digital platforms
* Maintaining and developing our website (Umbraco CMS)
* Supporting open mornings, taster events and prospective family activities
* Assisting with alumni engagement and Foundation Trust communications
* Conducting competitor research and identifying new marketing opportunities
* Coordinating with external agencies and upholding brand standards
What we’re looking for:
* A passion for storytelling and showcasing a brand
* Creativity paired with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
* An understanding of the education sector, ideally the prep school market
* Excellent organisational skills and the ability to multitask
* A strong team player who is also confident working independently
* Experience with design, video editing and content creation tools
* A Marketing (or related) degree and 1–2 years’ experience would be beneficial, but not essential
In return we offer:
* A friendly and supportive team
* A beautiful working environment in the New Forest
* Free lunch during term time
* Pension scheme and health benefits, including 24-hour GP access
* Free onsite parking and cycle-to-work scheme
