Salary: £23,797.60 Starting salary (National Min Wage) 40 Hrs Week.

We are looking for a full-time Bicycle Technician for our Leeds operation, to work on Leeds City Bike Scheme; Yorkshire’s largest bike hire scheme.
What you’ll get up to as a Bicycle Operations Technician
You will be part of a team responsible for the service/repair of the Leeds City Bikes Scheme. With opportunities to work in both the workshop and in a mobile role, you will strive to get bikes and their users on the move, measured against agreed KPI’s, ensuring we meet and exceed client expectations.
You will be a conscientious, hard-working, and dedicated individual who appreciates quality and attention to detail, taking responsibility for your own workload but also work as part of a highly efficient team.
Whilst full training will be given, you should understand basic bicycle maintenance and have a good grasp of mechanical engineering. We also look for those with a passion for everything cycling, together with the social, health and wellbeing and environmental impact of it.
For the right people, there are also opportunities to grow in the company as well as work on exciting projects across the UK and France.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Carry out bicycle servicing, repairs, maintenance and on-street rebalancing of bikes & basic maintenance.
2. Ensure all bikes are maintained to a very high standard.
3. Log repairs and maintenance of the bikes on a smartphone via digital tools/platforms and service applications, keeping log of all work carried out on the bicycles.
4. Ensure the workshop, equipment and tools are maintained to a high standard.
5. Adhere to all Health & Safety procedures and protocols.
6. Report spare parts and consumables stock levels to the Lead Mechanic/Workshop Manager.
7. Reports directly to the Hub Manager.
8. Present a professional image of Velogik at all times.
9. Ensure all Velogik clients and business activities receive an excellent level of customer service.
10. Assist with all other Velogik operations and activities as reasonably required to fulfil the needs of the business. This may include workshop and on-street activities, distribution tasks, offsite maintenance, attending events and Dr Bike workshops.
KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
1. A basic knowledge of bicycle mechanics, even as a hobbyist.
2. Experience within a workshop environment.
3. Experience and adherence to Health & Safety procedures and protocols.
4. Knowledge and/or experience of environmental and social impacts of a business.
5. A driver’s licence is desirable but not essential, as is good local knowledge of the Leeds City Centre and surrounding area.
6. A great personality and attitude to work!
