Job summary We are looking for an experienced Paediatric Physiotherapist (Band to be negotiated) to join our dynamic, energetic and supportive Children's Therapy Team in Exeter. Working all year round is required, but part- and full-time working hours, at least 3 days per week, are considered. We require the successful applicant to have at least one year experience of working as a physiotherapist post-qualification, if applying for a Band 5 role. We would be happy to discuss the post with potential applicants, as we are able to provide different opportunities/localities depending on experience and professional development requirements (e.g. Special Schools, Honeylands [0-3 years], NNU, Outpatients in the Mid-, East- and North Devon area). The main base of this post will be at Vranch House School & Centre in Exeter. Vranch House is a flourishing, well-respected charity, providing multidisciplinary therapy services across Devon. The Physiotherapy Service covers a large outpatient caseload, community & mainstream (0-18 years) and special needs education (0-19 years). In addition to this, provision is provided to children aged 2-19 with complex physical difficulties at Vranch House Special School. The charity is jointly commissioned by the local CCG and Devon County Council and is the hub of the area's Neurodisability Team. Main duties of the job The post-holder will be responsible to: Manage their own caseload, providing physiotherapy assessment, advice, treatment and exercise programmes to children (0-19 years) with a wide range of presentations and variety of conditions (e.g. neurological, genetic, musculoskeletal, oncology etc.) within the community as well as in special schools. Joint goal setting with the child, parent(s)/carer(s). Working closely with the therapy team at Vranch House, the child's family, educational team and the wider MDT. Demonstrate excellent communication skills, verbal and written, as well as timely note keeping. Actioning relevant onward referrals (e.g. Orthotics, Wheelchair Services, Orthopaedic/Spinal surgeon etc.). Lone working as well as joint working are required (e.g. attending joint orthopaedic clinics etc.) Offer therapy provision in the form of 121 sessions or in group settings. This may be at the child's educational setting, their home or at Vranch House Outpatient Department, based at Vranch House School & Centre. Work opportunities may also arise in other special schools, Honeylands Centre, NNU and our outpatient department in Barnstaple (North Devon). Own car and a full UK driving license are therefore required. Identifying the need for additional therapies such as hippo-, hydro- and rebound therapy as well as Innowalk, based on clinical needs.
