Setting Out Engineer (Groundworks Experience) Location: Slough Duration: Up to 12 weeks Rate: £350 per day Working Hours: 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Setting Out Engineer with a background in groundworks to join a site in Slough. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that the project is completed according to engineering specifications, ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety are adhered to. This is a contract position lasting up to 12 weeks, with the possibility of extension. Key Responsibilities: Set out and mark key locations for the construction of the project, ensuring accuracy and compliance with design drawings. Collaborate with site managers, foremen, and other engineers to ensure smooth operations. Ensure the accurate setting out of drainage systems, foundations, and other groundworks elements. Conduct regular site surveys to monitor progress and verify accuracy of work. Interpret and explain drawings and plans to on-site construction teams. Carry out quality control checks and verify the as-built status of the work. Report any issues or discrepancies to the project manager, offering solutions when necessary. Maintain and update site records and documentation related to setting out activities. Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations. Assist with the resolution of any site issues that may arise. Required Qualifications and Skills: Proven experience as a Setting Out Engineer with a focus on groundworks. Proficient in the use of setting-out equipment (e.g., total stations, GPS, etc.). Strong understanding of construction drawings and specifications. Knowledge of groundworks techniques, including drainage, foundations, and earthworks. Familiarity with health and safety regulations on construction sites. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with site teams. Valid CSCS card. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Previous experience in the Slough area or surrounding regions is desirable. Additional Information: A competitive day rate of £350 will be offered to the successful candidate. This is a full-time position, with working hours from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM. The project is expected to last up to 12 weeks, with potential for extension depending on performance and project requirements
