Building Regulations Adviser – National / August, 2024
The Harris Partnership Ltd is a RIBA chartered architecture practice based in six offices across the UK. We have a very strong reputation in the commercial field and undertake commissions throughout the UK on a variety of building types. Our extensive portfolio includes industrial, distribution, residential, retail, food stores, drive-thru units, hotels, leisure, cinema, offices, refurbishment and conservation and regeneration schemes.
We are looking for somebody to work internally with our architects and technicians to assist and support them to carry out and evidence their duties as designer and principal designer under the amended Building Regulations.
The role will involve supporting architects and technicians as follows:
1. Advise and assist with designer and principal designer duties under the building regulations for non-HRB and HRB projects
2. Initiate and maintain processes, strategies and documents to record evidence of compliance with the building regulations
3. Respond to Building Regulations design queries, and proactively and collaboratively assist with solutions
Candidates should be able to demonstrate the following qualities / qualifications:
1. Extensive experience of working with the Building Regulations (possibly as an approved inspector) on a wide range of project sectors and scales
2. Thorough knowledge and understanding of the Building Regulations as amended by the Building Safety Act 2022, including the duty-holder regulations and design guidance including British Standards
3. Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel/ work dynamically with staff across the UK
4. MCABE Class 2/ 3
5. A smart, enthusiastic and professional demeanour
6. Excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills
