We are now looking for a passionate retail sales assistant with exceptional digital marketing skills to continue our story. At Cockburns, our customers are at the heart of everything we do. You will be an ambassador for the Cockburns brand, passionately delivering a premium wine & spirit buying experience.
Organisational Structure:
* Report directly to General Manager.
* Progress in this role will be formally reviewed on a quarterly basis.
Job Description overview:
This is a hybrid position combining shop floor sales assistant role and digital marketing – 1 & 2. You will work well amongst and contribute to a small close-knit team. You will help as instructed to ensure the smooth running and proper maintenance of the sales floor, under the supervision of the shop General Manager.
You will display the highest level of customer care and strive to provide 5-star customer service. The position is based on a changing weekly rota basis working 4 days per week to support the business requirements.
1/ Shop Floor Sales Assistant
* You will have a passion for wine and spirits, and must have a desire to learn further.
* You are an ambassador for the Cockburn’s brand, supporting the team to help deliver a premium wine & spirit buying experience.
* You must develop a good working knowledge of all wines and spirits sold in the shop.
* Be able to competently advise customers on a suitable choice of products.
* To assist with in-house events / tastings. On occasions, you may be asked to work out-with your normal contracted hours to carry out tastings/ events.
* Ability to lift and move full boxes of wines and spirits as required or requested.
* Conversant with all systems: Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word & In-House IT system. (training provided)
* Ensure the store is well stocked, with products visually merchandised and priced accurately.
* Occasional responsibility for locking up premises and ensuring shop is secure on departure.
* Process transactions through EPOS system (both sales & payments) and payments on card machine.
* Daily Sales & Payments reconciliation & email to head office.
* Assist with quarterly stock takes in store as required.
2/ Media & Digital Marketing
* To create visually eye-catching marketing campaigns and website offers.
* Focus on social media marketing channels and content creation - Website, Facebook, Instagram.
* To create content driving engagement with the Cockburns brand to increase product sales.
* Advanced I.T. skills with experience with Mailchimp and Word Press/ WooCommerce platforms and the ability to update the Cockburns website with offers as directed.
* Systematically analyse and report the results of your web offers, and digital marketing efforts with recommendations to the General Manager.
Training / Role Development:
* WSET levels 1 & 2 to be provided when courses available.
* In-house product training.
Salary & package:
* Competitive salary £22,140 (30 hr/ week).
* 4 days per week with the ability to flex up if required.
* Discretionary bonus.
