Who You Are You are a dedicated and skilled Fleet Mechanic with a commitment to delivering efficient and effective repair, servicing, and maintenance of fleet vehicles, plant, and equipment. You possess a high standard of education with a Level 3 NVQ in Light Motor Mechanics or equivalent, and ideally have qualifications in HGV maintenance, repair, or plant equipment. You have experience in supervision and assessment of apprentices, or the willingness to develop these skills. Your strong understanding of Health and Safety practices, along with excellent communication abilities, enables you to work both independently and as part of a team to ensure operational compliance and the maximisation of service delivery. What the Job Involves This role requires you to maintain, service, and repair fleet vehicles, plants, and equipment according to manufacturers' recommendations, Health and Safety requirements, and Ministry of Transport Regulations. You will handle maintenance documentation, ensure workshop cleanliness, and liaise with other departments to meet deadlines. Responsibilities also include performing periodic maintenance, diagnosing and repairing electrical vehicles, supporting roadside recoveries, and providing technical information and diagnostic investigation. You will work alternating shifts and help cover breakdowns and repairs within the Conwy County boundaries, while maintaining high standards of compliance and service quality.
