Job Description
SLR’s well established water team boasts a wealth of expertise across hydrogeology, hydrology and geochemistry, offering expert services across a range of sectors including mining and minerals, energy, industry and the built environment. Due to a steadily increasing workload we currently have an opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated graduate or project grade consultant to join our busy team in Bristol.

With client instructions across the UK and abroad, this opportunity is an excellent prospect for the successful candidate to gain experience across a broad range of projects in different geographic areas.

The role
You will have a great opportunity to develop the skills and knowledge gained during your degree/masters – or to build on any placement or post-graduation commercial experience you have gained.
With support from senior colleagues, you will have the opportunity to get involved in a wide range of tasks including:
1. Undertaking routine groundwater level, groundwater quality and surface water monitoring
2. Installation of groundwater level loggers, data download and analysis
3. Borehole drilling supervision, geological logging and hydrogeological testing
4. Maintaining databases of monitoring data
5. Reviewing, interpreting and reporting the results of routine water monitoring
6. Preparing geological and hydrogeological Conceptual Site Models
7. Assisting with the completion of hydrogeological assessments to include analysis of monitoring data, completion of hydrogeological calculations, groundwater modelling and reporting
8. Contributing to the preparation of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) water chapters
The nature of the role and the sites worked on mean that there may be occasional site work away from home for short periods.
About you
If you are interested in applying and you have a full UK driving licence we would love to hear from you. In order to be successful, we would envisage that you would be able to demonstrate the following:
1. A relevant degree or postgraduate qualification which focuses on Earth Sciences and Hydrogeology, and the drive and desire to build a successful career in this field
2. Strong IT skills, including MS Office; and any use of modelling software (ArcGIS, QGIS, Groundwater Vistas) would be a great advantage
3. A desire to learn, and the ability to problem solve and work independently when required
4. Good numeracy, written and verbal communication, and timekeeping abilities
