Here at The Mick George Group, we are looking for a Project/Site Manager in our Earthworks Division.
Job Overview:
The Site Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of construction sites, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and according to specifications. They manage on-site resources, coordinate subcontractors, and maintain communication with stakeholders. The role requires strong leadership, problem-solving, organisational skills, and a thorough understanding of UK construction processes and regulations.
Responsibilities:
1. Site Supervision:
o Lead and manage on-site construction activities, ensuring compliance with project plans, specifications, and safety standards.
o Coordinate and supervise subcontractors and on-site personnel to maximise productivity and efficiency.
2. Health and Safety:
o Implement and enforce health and safety procedures to create a safe working environment.
o Conduct regular safety inspections, identify hazards, and take corrective actions.
3. Quality Assurance:
o Monitor workmanship and progress to meet quality standards.
o Conduct inspections and quality checks for compliance.
4. Resource Management:
o Manage on-site resources, including plant and labour, to ensure efficiency.
o Coordinate deliveries, inventory, and logistics.
5. Communication and Reporting:
o Serve as the primary contact for stakeholders, providing updates on project progress.
o Prepare reports and documentation on site activities.
6. Problem Solving:
o Address challenges during construction, implementing solutions to minimize disruptions.
o Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve conflicts and negotiate changes.
Skills/Qualifications:
* SMSTS or equivalent health and safety certification.
* CSCS card.
* Proven experience as a site manager or similar role in construction.
* Knowledge of UK construction methods, materials, and regulations.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Proficiency in project management software.
* Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
* Pro-active team player.
* Diploma or degree in construction management, engineering, or related field (desirable).
* Knowledge of Earthworks and heavy plant (desirable).
