Purpose of Role
We’re recruiting for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to support our military framework agreement across Oxfordshire.
Job Description
The Quantity Surveyor would be responsible for managing the delivery and governance of commercial services across multiple military bases, barracks and offices. They will regularly review pricing on commercial refurbishments ensuring target costs are met, reviewing contractual agreements with our subcontractors, handling commercial management issues, and engaging with the end client directly. This role requires a diligent and professional approach and will be both client and subcontractor facing. The successful candidate will have experience of managing commercial refurbishment projects – ideally military; however, retail or NHS would be suitable.
Wide range of schemes, ranging up to £5 million, all commercially focused: interior refurbs, MEP, HV/LV replacement, HVAC, airfield repairs, drainage, civils, boundary fencing, and roofing etc.
Responsibilities
1. Manage the delivery and governance of commercial services across multiple military bases.
2. Regularly review pricing on commercial refurbishments.
3. Review contractual agreements with subcontractors.
4. Handle commercial management issues.
5. Engage with the end client directly.
Essential Qualifications/Skills
* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably with commercial project experience.
* Strong understanding of refurbishment projects, including both interior and exterior works.
* Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* Understanding of NEC, JCT D&B contracts.
* Ability to engage with clients, stakeholders, subcontractors, and third parties.
* Proficient in cost management, reporting, and forecasting.
* Candidates must be eligible for and complete required security clearance prior to site access.
