About Hannah
Hannah is involved in the recruitment process for her team, writing a little about herself:
Hi, I’m Hannah, I’m 24, and I have a learning disability and frontal lobe impairment, which can make processing information challenging and sometimes cause anxiety or frustration. I can occasionally display behaviours that challenge and need a resilient support team for reassurance. While I have 2:1 support, I am very independent. I’m described as funny, kind, thoughtful, and inquisitive. I’m a girly girl and love pampering activities like getting my hair, nails, and makeup done, and I’m planning to enrol in a hair and beauty course. I’m active, enjoy shopping, spending time at the beach or park, and relaxing with reality TV and music. I’m close to my family, often visiting my mum, and care for my pet rabbit Daisy. In the future, I’d love to get more involved in the community and build friendships with people my age.
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive individual to join our team in supporting Hannah to develop life skills, manage domestic tasks, and promote personal autonomy.
Key responsibilities include:
• Encouraging independence in domestic tasks, social activities, money management, and relationships.
• Supporting education, attendance, and chosen areas of occupation (if applicable).
• Assisting with household tasks such as cleaning, cooking, washing, and minor repairs, ensuring hygiene and cleanliness standards are maintained.
• Participating in assessments, preparing individual plans, and attending reviews.
• Adhering to company policies, procedures, and health & safety regulations.
• Recording and reporting any changes in health or behaviour and assisting in emergencies or medical needs.
• Liaising with family, advocates, and professionals as required.
• Supporting house administration and taking part in staff activities and training.
About you
We are looking for resilient, observant, and like-minded Support Workers who are trustworthy, kind, and genuinely care about Hannah’s happiness. The ideal candidates will be reliable, structured, and have a good sense of humour.
You should be an empathetic listener who is understanding, open-minded and eager to learn. Enthusiasm, encouragement, and strong communication skills are essential, along with a willingness to engage in Hannah’s interests and support her personal growth.
• Full referencing and a full enhanced check of the Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) will be required for this position.
• Full UK driving license is preferred for this role.
• An NVQ or equivalent and/or experience in complex care is preferred
• Full training will be provided through Seco Supports induction programme and online learning.
