The West Brom Building Society are looking to recruit a Senior Project Manager. Reporting to the Portfolio Lead, the Senior Project Manager role plays an integral part within the change and IT family at the West Brom to acknowledge the increased requirement to deliver projects and lead project managers in the delivery of their projects.
The Senior Project Manager will work alongside the existing Portfolio and Project Managers and other areas of IT and Change to ensure that business and technology initiatives align with the Societys strategic direction.
Key responsibilities are:
Manage a team, including PMs and PMO resources, to deliver an effective team. This includes the development of colleagues as well as ensure delivery is in line with the governance framework within the Society
Management of project resources to develop an effective team in a matrixed environment
Delivery within a multi project portfolio, including the development and management of a detailed project schedules and work plans
Proactively manages change to project scope via change control to ensure projects track progress and costs in order to meet objectives, scope and budget
Management of Society stakeholders to ensure that status, project dependencies and critical path along with the associated impacts and risk are clearly communicated and understood. This is within the Portfolio and also all levels of stakeholders
Responsible for delivering multiple projects through matrixed resources from various teams across the IT division, including but not exclusively, Architecture, Business Analysis, Technical Services Group, DBAs and Service
Will work with the portfolio team, architecture colleagues as well as business and technical stakeholders to shape the delivery portfolio and incept the agreed projects.
Ensuring customer and business impacts of proposed changes and solutions are understood and scoped
Ownership of delivery to Cost, Time and Quality.
Ensure that the delivery governance is agreed for the project and managed through the lifecycle.
Management of risk and use of 1st Line Assurance as required will also be key
Driving process improvement across the IT delivery, ownership of project delivery improvements as we as supporting the PMO and the technical teams as we embed a continuous improvement culture
Own relationship with 3rd Party Suppliers, working from the initial engagement though the effective delivery of the project - This will include RFI / RFP, commercials, supplier management and building effective delivery models
The skills and experience required are:
Project delivery experience ideally across financial services - with experience of both Agile and Waterfall delivery
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to influence a wide range of stakeholders
Experience of delivering and leading business and IT projects / programmes in a regulated environment
Strong project management skills with a desire to deliver to time; cost and quality.
Outstanding leadership and organisational skills
Experience of managing 3rd Parties to delivery effect IT change
Previous experience in delivery financial services / regulated projects
Proven experience in delivering projects employing both Agile and Waterfall based methodologies. Project management certification such as PRINCE2, Scrum, PMP
Delivery and results focused, with the ability to build and manage client / customer relationships/ This includes the ability to report to steering committees comprised of senior executives
Demonstrable experience in managing internal and external technology partners
Breadth of knowledge across the infrastructure technology stack, including Cloud technologies
