If you are a Financial Lines underwriter with expertise and a track-record in Management Liability, we would love to hear from you. You would be required to develop, underwrite and manage new and renewal business to deliver on our growth objectives. You would need to develop strong broker relationships across the region. We would expect you to negotiate at an advanced level and to be able to present Chubb’s offering to clients and brokers. You would be part of the dynamic and ambitious Midlands & South team, reporting to the Financial Lines Manager. Our Financial Lines portfolio includes a range of Management Liability and Professional Indemnity products, covering a broad spectrum of customers, from small commercial to large-listed multi-nationals. The Midlands and South Region encompasses the Midlands, East Anglia, the South-East (excluding London), Wales and the Southwest. You will be expected to have the experience and technical acumen to secure appropriate levels of underwriting authority. You would exercise this authority in-line with Chubb’s underwriting appetite guidelines and best practices. Positive interaction with underwriting management is a key part of the role. You will be expected to collaborate internally, working closely with regional management, product line management and referral points, sales and distribution, other lines of business, operations, global services and the national underwriting centre. Key Responsibilities: Achieve growth and financial objectives - including new business, production and profitability targets. Ensure technical underwriting excellence in-line with Chubb’s best practices and technical underwriting framework. Maintain accurate underwriting records and data. Monitor underwriting through regular peer reviews. Develop strong relationships with key producers, attending broker meetings and other engagement opportunities. Achieve new business and growth targets by developing and executing on a pipeline of new opportunities in collaboration with the sales and distribution and underwriting teams. Manage a renewal portfolio, in-line with agreed underwriting strategy and our retention targets. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure best practices and deliver exceptional service. Timely and accurate reporting and financial forecasting, with a good understanding of trends and performance drivers. Conducting business ethically within Chubb's code of conduct, compliance guidelines, underwriting guidelines, quality and timeliness standards for policy documentation and other service standards. An advocate for the Chubb brand, maintaining an excellent external reputation. Demonstrating behaviours consistent with Chubb's values, ethics, culture, and service standards, both internally and externally. Qualifications A-Levels or higher (Degree/ACII or progress towards) preferred but not essential. Comprehensive Management Liability technical knowledge and experience. Financial Institutions and/or Professional Indemnity knowledge is an advantage. Willingness to continuously learn and enhance technical knowledge and skills. Strong analytical, financial analysis skills and problem-solving skills. A proven track record as a dynamic development underwriter with good market knowledge, relationships and reputation, dynamic business development and negotiation skills. Good interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Results driven with ability to make own decisions and work on own initiative.
