Place of work: Coventry with travel to Derby once per week, ability to work from home one day per week.

Overview
Hallmark Engineering Group is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to support the finance function and ensure the accuracy and efficiency of financial processes. This role is crucial in maintaining reconciliations, preparing month-end and year-end financial packs, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Month-End & Year-End Reporting: Prepare and compile month-end and year-end financial packs for review, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
2. Bank & Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Maintain reconciliations in Xero, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and any discrepancies are promptly addressed.
3. VAT Accounting: Prepare and submit VAT returns, ensuring compliance with relevant tax regulations and identifying any potential efficiencies.
4. Variance Analysis: Conduct variance analysis to compare actual performance against budget, identifying key trends and areas for improvement.
5. Fixed Assets & Depreciation: Maintain the fixed asset register and ensure appropriate depreciation calculations.
6. Financial Compliance & Controls: Ensure financial policies and internal controls are adhered to, supporting compliance with accounting standards and audit requirements.
7. Payroll Support: Assist with payroll reconciliations and reporting as required.
8. Support Audit Process: Provide necessary documentation and analysis for external auditors during year-end reviews.
What We Are Looking For
1. Part-qualified ACCA (or equivalent) with at least 5+ years of experience in a finance or accounting role.
2. Strong technical accounting knowledge, including UK financial reporting standards.
3. Proficiency in Xero and experience maintaining reconciliations within financial software.
4. Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in financial reporting and variance analysis.
6. Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with wider teams.
