Job Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Clinical Site Practitioner Team at The Hillingdon Hospital. This is a new developmental role as a Junior Clinical Site Practitioner working alongside the Clinical Site Team.
As a member of the Trust's 24-hour Clinical Site Practitioner Team, you are responsible for the management of emergency and elective admission processes across the Trust, ensuring safe and appropriate placement of patients by supporting efficient patient flows and optimal utilization of the Trust's bed capacity. You will ensure all relevant national and Trust operational targets are achieved, balancing the demand for an optimal level of elective activity with a high flow emergency rate while maintaining contingency plans for emerging site issues.
This is a developmental post with a vision to progress into a Band 8 position.
Main Duties of the Job
1. Provide senior nursing managerial support and advice to all clinical areas within the Trust, and undertake advanced clinical patient assessments and interventions as a part of the Hospital at Night team during night and out-of-hours.
2. Participate and coordinate supporting the Trust's emergency response teams to fire, security alerts, cardiac arrests, trauma calls, NEWS calls, and other clinical emergencies. Be responsible for the coordination and first-line management of major incidents and serious untoward incidents as site management issues arise out of hours.
3. Maintain a visible senior leadership presence in the hospital out of hours, ensuring high standards of quality care and experience for all patients by working closely with all multidisciplinary teams, supporting them in the management of difficult situations and patient care concerns, and ensuring safe optimal allocation of staff and resources.

Person Specification
Essential
* NMC Registered Nurse
* BSc in Nursing and Health Studies
* Significant experience in varied acute clinical settings, such as HDU, CCOT, CCU, and confident working at a band 6/7+ level
* Experience of teaching and assessing
* Experience in team management and managerial decision-making in clinical and non-clinical settings
* Alert or Intermediate Life Support course
* Cannulation, Phlebotomy, and catheterization (male and female)
* Perform a comprehensive clinical assessment of adults
* Master's degree qualification or willingness to undertake
Desirable
* Experience working in emergency or elective pathways
* Previous Hospital at Night experience
* Experience and knowledge of bed management flow
* Management of NIV including interpretation of ABGs
* Advanced Life Support course
* Management of tracheostomy
* Non-medical prescribing course
