The role will support the environment lead, Mace Dragados colleagues and the supply chain and be responsible for proposing and developing actions to support further reduction in carbon emissions in line with HS2 strategies. You’ll be responsible for: Developing and maintaining carbon management plan for the project in accordance with requirements specified in HS2-HS2-SU-STD-000-000004 (technical standard – carbon management). Working collaboratively with the design team to update the life cycle assessment (LCA) at each key project gateway stage and ensure a final ‘as-built’ LCA shall be conducted at the end of construction. Attending site and project team meetings to ensure construction and installations are in line with the carbon savings and specifications in the design. Supporting the project level understanding of any relevant environmental requirements and develop mitigations that will inhibit any impacts on the construction programme. Driving the carbon agenda throughout the design and construction phase by leading the carbon working group to action carbon opportunities and identify new opportunities for further reductions Providing regular and ad-hoc reports on sustainability issues, meeting minutes and presentation material as required. Periodically updating the sustainability processes in the project Integrated management system with MDJV Euston team. Developing and maintaining the sustainability key risks and issues log to be used to report to senior leadership. You’ll need to have: Respect\: understanding others, recognising their value and behaving accordingly Integrity\: acting fairly, transparently and consistently Educated to degree or equivalent, typically environmental discipline (or related).
