The Materials and Structural Analysis Division (MSD) enables customers to find meaningful answers to questions that accelerate breakthrough discoveries and ultimately change the world. We design, manufacture, and support a broad range of high-performance microscopy and spectroscopy workflows on wafers and single chips that provide images and answers in the micro-, nano-, and picometer scales. We combine hardware and software expertise in electron and ion microscopy with deep application knowledge in the materials science, life sciences, electronics, and natural resources markets.
How will you make an impact?
As an Operations Engineer TEM, you will be part of a passionate and hardworking team in Eindhoven working with our groundbreaking Transmission Electron Microscopes (TEM)! Our TEM technology enables and supports Nobel Prize-winning research and played a significant role in the early assessment of COVID-19. The impact of your work is visible, and you will actively contribute to the latest breakthroughs in Science!
What will you do?
* Provide technical support to the factory to ensure that Thermo Fisher can ship high-quality systems timely to its customers.
* Support factory and field service engineers with the first builds, installs, and upgrades of newly introduced systems and modules to ensure accurate working order.
* Solve complex problems and ensure system specifications are met, particularly focusing on optics and corrector alignments.
* Support (technically) NPI projects according to the Product Management Process (PMP) and multi-functional Operations improvement projects.
* Create and maintain work instructions and define the way of working (factory process flow).
* Actively support R&D in NSO/NSR projects, including optical support and corrector-related deliverables, focusing on high-precision alignments and system specifications.
* Act as a technical mentor to help direct peers learn and grow.
How will you get there?
* Demonstrable experience in the field of Engineering in a manufacturing environment. Knowledge and/or experience with electron microscopy and optical systems is a huge plus.
* A degree in a technical field such as Engineering or Physics, or a combination of engineering education and relevant work experience that demonstrates the required skills.
* Experience in project management.
* Ability to cope with the dynamics in a manufacturing environment.
* Excellent English language skills (both verbal and written), Dutch is a huge plus.
* Be a collaborative team player with a pragmatic approach.
