Caudwell Marine is a start-up engineering company, financially backed by John Caudwell, developing an innovative, patented outboard motor and Vessel Control System. The Caudwell Marine organisation is a small but growing, experienced team of people who are passionate about successfully bringing this technologically leading outboard motor to market. Each team member has a ‘hands on’ approach and supports each other for the benefit of the programme. Reporting to the Boat Operations Supervisor, you will be operating as skipper in command of the vessels or part of the crew to support our Validation Testing of Caudwell Marine's Diesel Outboard Drive System. In addition, you will be required to carry out necessary activities to ensure the smooth operation of our workshop and Alicat testing facility. Responsibilities: Assist with vessel testing as required Ensure safety on our vessels and adherence to safety protocols Close quarter manoeuvring competence and securing vessels when not in use Compliance with maritime laws and local regulations Perform all other duties reasonably requested to achieve Company goals Travel to other facilities or customers if required Work in accordance with Caudwell Marine's Health and Safety Policy, addressing issues immediately Previous experience in Small, Medium Enterprise (SME) Ability to 'roll your sleeves up' in a small team Ability to read and understand technical manuals Personal Attributes: Dependable, Positive, Flexible, and Effective in the workplace Continuous Improvement mindset applied to Product, Working Practices, and Facility Proven self-starter who welcomes a challenge Flexible hours and overtime availability Team player, supporting and accepting support from colleagues High energy to drive results with enthusiasm and pace Determination to achieve the best business results Qualifications: Skipper Relevant experience as a skipper on ribs/tenders circa 12m Powerboat Advanced (essential) – commercially endorsed Yachtmaster (preferred) – commercially endorsed VHF Short Range First Aid Clean driving licence and own transport Crew Minimum 1 year experience as crew on ribs/tenders circa 12m Powerboat Level 2 Clean driving licence and own transport Skipper & Crew Medical ENG/1 or ML5 Personal Survival Techniques Clean driving licence and own transport Telehandler licence is an advantage Additional Details: Location: Lowestoft Operating a 2-shift system: 06:00-13:30 and 13:15-11:30 pm.
