Salary: £60,000 - £75,000 (or £450-£525/day inside IR35, dependent on experience)

About the Role
Our client is seeking a Design Manager to join their East Midlands office. Reporting to the Design Management Regional Discipline Lead (RDL), you will lead the design phases of a portfolio of projects, ensuring cost-effective, technically compliant, and buildable solutions are delivered. This role involves managing all stakeholder requirements, driving efficiency, and delivering designs in line with project timelines, quality standards, and sustainability goals.

Key Responsibilities
Promote excellence in Health & Safety (H&S) in design, complying with all relevant legislation and stakeholder requirements.
Lead the design team to deliver customer requirements and project objectives.
Manage design budgets and resources, ensuring efficient delivery within allocated hours.
Prepare and maintain a comprehensive Design Management Plan and provide regular updates.
Ensure technical solutions are cost-effective, high-quality, and delivered on time.
Provide technical support during construction, assembly, and commissioning stages.
Drive sustainability targets, including reducing embodied and operational carbon footprints.
Work collaboratively with partners, clients, and external stakeholders to deliver exceptional service.
Represent our client professionally in all interactions and maintain positive working relationships.
What Our Client is Looking For
Essential:
Extensive experience in multi-disciplinary design management within a design-build environment.
Degree in an engineering-related discipline.
Chartered Engineer in a relevant field.
APM Project Fundamentals Qualification.
Strong knowledge of CDM regulations and construction Health & Safety.
Proven experience managing large-scale projects with multi-disciplinary teams.
Strategic, operational, and technical management skills.
Knowledge of water treatment processes, including civil and MEICA engineering aspects.Desirable:
Working towards or holding APM Project Management Qualification.
Experience working for global organisations or remote/dispersed teams.
Experience in the water/wastewater treatment industry.
Familiarity with BIM procedures and techniques.
Collaborative and innovative working mindset.
