We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Nursery Practitioner to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong and genuine love for working with children. As a Nursery Practitioner, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young learners. Your leadership skills will be essential in guiding and supporting both children and fellow staff members.
Duties
1. Provide high-quality care and education to children aged 0-5 years, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
2. Develop and implement engaging educational activities that promote learning through play, fostering children's development across various domains.
3. Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to build strong relationships and ensure the needs of each child are met.
4. Manage daily routines, including meal times, nap times, and outdoor play, ensuring a structured yet flexible environment.
5. Observe and assess children's progress, maintaining accurate records to inform planning and support individual learning needs.
6. Collaborate with the team to create a positive atmosphere that encourages teamwork and professional growth.
7. Drive initiatives that enhance the nursery's practices in line with current early years frameworks and regulations.
Requirements
1. Relevant qualifications in Early Childhood Education or Childcare are essential.
2. A Level 3 qualification in childcare or early years education.
3. Paediatric First Aid (PFA) certification.
4. Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies.
5. A DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check to ensure suitability to work with children.
6. Experience working with children in a nursery or childcare setting (often gained during training).
7. Experience working with children in a nursery or similar setting is highly desirable.
8. Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a small team effectively.
9. Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to engage with children, parents, and colleagues.
10. A genuine passion for childcare and early childhood education is crucial.
11. Ability to drive may be advantageous for transporting resources or attending training sessions off-site.
