Job Title: Executive Assistant
Location: Benfleet
Job Type: Temporary Contract, Full Time (3 months initially)
Rate: Up to £14.84 per hour (inside IR35 via umbrella)
The Opportunity
A temporary opportunity has arisen for an experienced Executive Assistant to provide high-quality, effective, and efficient executive support to senior leadership. This is a hybrid working position, with an expectation of being in the office at least three days per week, with flexibility to meet business needs.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide executive support to senior leadership, including diary management, correspondence handling, and meeting facilitation.
* Organise high-level internal and external meetings, conferences, and visits, ensuring appropriate arrangements are made.
* Prepare accurate meeting agendas, papers, and briefings in a timely manner, ensuring key stakeholders are informed of relevant developments.
* Act as a point of contact for media enquiries and external communications on behalf of senior leadership.
* Manage correspondence, including drafting responses and handling routine enquiries on behalf of executives.
* Work closely with legal and democratic services to coordinate and facilitate member enquiries, MP enquiries, Freedom of Information requests, and corporate complaints.
* Provide administrative support outside normal office hours when required.
* Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in handling sensitive information.
Skills & Experience Required
* Strong IT proficiency, including experience with Microsoft Office and other relevant software packages.
* Previous Local Government Experience
* Proven experience in managing complex diaries, scheduling meetings, and tracking actions effectively.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating initiative and sound judgement.
* Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise workload and meet tight deadlines.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ensuring clarity and professionalism.
* Experience working within a structured governance environment, preferably within a public sector or corporate setting.
* Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships at all levels.
