About the Role
This deep tech startup is revolutionizing the 3D digital world with innovative solutions that enable creators to produce ultra-realistic content faster and at scale. Their technology captures real-world objects and predicts material properties to create production-ready digital replicas.
Key Responsibilities:
* Research and develop innovative methods for converting images of objects into material properties like color, roughness, and texture.
* Work with state-of-the-art image generation models such as diffusion models, GANs, and DINO segmentation.
* Train and fine-tune models on proprietary datasets, ensuring they can handle real-world data and specific use cases.
* Lead the end-to-end process from data preparation and model training to deployment and optimization.
* Collaborate with the team while taking ownership of your research area.
* Utilize AWS for model training, data sourcing, and dataset preparation.
* Contribute to the development of 3D appearance-based work (e.g., BRDF, PBR, re-lighting), particularly in gaming or imaging contexts.
What We Are Looking For:
* Extensive experience in image generation, including diffusion models, GANs, and DINO segmentation.
* Hands-on experience converting images into material properties (e.g., color, roughness, texture) and applying this in real-world settings.
* Strong knowledge of tools like Git, TensorFlow, and AWS for model development and deployment.
* A Master’s degree or higher in a relevant STEM field (machine learning, computer graphics, etc.). PhD candidates transitioning to industry are also welcome.
* Familiarity with 3D and appearance-based work (e.g., BRDF, PBR, re-lighting) is a plus, particularly from gaming or imaging industries.
