Staff Nurse – Onslow Ward (Band 5) - Nurse - Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust
Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust – Guildford, Surrey
As a registered, accountable and autonomous nurse, you will act in the best interests of your patients at all times and take personal responsibility for your actions and decisions. You will be responsible for patient assessment, planning of care, implementing and supervising safe and compassionate care, and evaluating the effectiveness of care. As an NMC registrant, you will facilitate the learning and development of others. You will demonstrate leadership qualities and be open, transparent, and trustworthy. As a Trust employee, you will act with integrity and uphold the values and beliefs of the Trust and the NMC Code of Conduct.
Your responsibilities will include providing a high standard of individualised patient care reflecting your competencies and education while involving relatives/carers as appropriate. You will be responsible for the nursing care of a defined group of patients and assist in the management and organisation of the nursing service in the clinical area, including the teaching and management of more junior staff or those in training.
Royal Surrey is a compassionate and collaborative acute and community Trust. Recognising that our 5000 colleagues are our greatest strength, we offer a comprehensive health and wellbeing program along with a commitment to developing and advancing your career. Our diverse and welcoming Royal Surrey family will ensure you feel valued from your initial interview through your entire tenure.
We are clinically led and provide joined-up care by bridging the gap between hospital and community services alongside regional specialist cancer care. Our main acute hospital site is in Guildford with community hospital sites at Milford, Haslemere, and Cranleigh. We provide adult community health services in homes across Guildford and Waverley.
The Care Quality Commission (CQC) has given us an overall rating of Outstanding.
Royal Surrey has a strong reputation and history to build on. We are proud of our achievements and we are investing in our colleagues through our commitment to supporting professional development as well as investing more than £45 million in our physical environment and new equipment in the next few years. There has never been a better time to join us.
If you have level 1 registration with the NMC, have experience at Band 5 level in an acute setting (preferably within the NHS), and would like to develop your knowledge and skills in cancer care, we would like to hear from you. A cancer or haematology nursing qualification is desirable; however, we can offer and encourage our staff to undertake further study. With a range of modules in cancer and haematology available, you could develop your career in either of these areas.
