Are you a construction Buyer looking to line up a fresh new role to start in 2025?
We are delighted to assist this household name in the housebuilding industry in their quest to add a Buyer to their team based in Perth. Well known across the country for building quality family homes for all ends of the market they have a secure pipeline of new developments planned into 2025 and keen to grow their team to help facilitate this.
Reporting to the Commercial Manager, responsibilities for the role will include:
* Working closely with Site and Contract Managers to ensure requisitions are processed efficiently and site issues are overcome swiftly.
* Monitoring and take action as appropriate to ensure suppliers’ performance complies against expected service levels.
* Compiling, issuing and analysing tenders for new projects with an aim to achieve value for money and adherence to specification.
* Placing plot specific bulk purchase orders at the start of a new site and ensuring these are updated in line with any changes to pricing or remix’s to the site layout.
* Assisting in the analysis of expenditure, looking for and driving opportunities to reduce costs and streamline processes.
* Collaborating and develop relationships with key stakeholders which includes suppliers, subcontractors and colleagues.
* Producing reports and recommendations for stakeholders as required.
* Submitting material cost budgets to department surveyors and advising where large losses or stolen product has occurred.
* Carrying out monthly site visits to review material on site, material storage and reviewing reports with Site Management.
Key skills we are looking for:
* A confident and numerate professional who has previous experience in a buyer role.
* Someone who is self-motivated, asks questions, eager to learn with a good work ethic.
* Ability to prioritise your workload especially when working to tight deadlines.
* A confident communicator.
* Proficient in Excel with strong attention to detail.
* Previous COINS experience would be hugely advantageous.
* Full Driving licence is essential.
