The post holder will undertake autonomous work across the acute medical, frailty and older person’s wards and have the opportunity to work in the emergency department. The post holder’s team would also cover areas, such as a frailty same day emergency care unit, and support the work of an assistant practitioner. There would also be opportunity to learn skills about critical care and may be required to cover this specialist area, depending on service demands. To take an active role in supervision of the team under the leadership of the Dietetic Team Lead, deputising in their absence. Other responsibilities may include attending and actively contributing at MDT meetings, board rounds to discuss patient cases, helping prevent inpatient admissions through intervention in the emergency department and discussing patient care, dietetic intervention, goals and discharge planning.
