Due to one of our TAs taking their maternity leave, and also the increasing number of children requesting places in our nursery, we would like to recruit further Teaching Assistants to support across our school Nursery Class and in Reception. We also have a TA maternity leave to cover in KS2.
There are 3 positions available:
1. 1 x EYFS full time maternity leave for approx 12 months
2. 1 x EYFS part time 8.30am – 1pm fixed term contract to Aug 2025 then dependent on the needs of the school thereafter
3. 1 x KS2 part time maternity leave to July 2025 8.30am – 1pm
At Carlton Road, we aim to give all our pupils the best beginning to their journey with us; from our nursery class upwards to the end of their time with us in Year 6. While our children come from a range of cultural and social backgrounds, they are united in their aspirations to achieve and the whole school adopts our motto of “Aim High and Dream Big”. Our staff team are passionate about ensuring all our pupils have the best start in life and we recognise as a school the importance of this for all our children. Our successful candidate will play a key role in a team that is making this happen.
Are you passionate about ensuring all children receive their entitlement to a quality education? Would enabling them to live our school’s ethos of “Aspire to Achieve” and the Trust's vision that every child is “educated in a good academy every day” match your own values? If “Yes!”, then maybe you are the someone we are seeking to add the following skills to our team.
We are seeking Teaching Assistants who:
* Have the drive and vision to make a difference to children’s outcomes.
* Have TA qualifications or equivalent or would like to work towards them.
* Have some understanding of special educational needs and are interested to know more.
* Are interested in children’s development and how they learn.
* Can see when a child needs support, perhaps before the child knows it themselves.
* Think of solutions rather than see problems.
* Could deliver learning 1:1 or to a small group, with support as needed to begin.
* Would like to become confident (with guidance at first) to lead a larger group.
* Love to read and share stories in a way that excites children.
* Model language and vocabulary naturally - verbally and in writing.
* Communicate calmly and positively, without the need to raise their voice.
* See behaviour as indicative of an unmet need, and then try to identify and meet it.
* Smile and patiently care enough to go those extra steps that make a difference.
You may have experience in a role like this or be at the start of your career excited to begin; either way, what is most important to us is the passion and dedication you would bring to the role and to our pupils.
